Art Market

I designed and managed the ArtMarket as a full experiential learning program — building supporting resources including a Manufacturing Resource Guide and Cost and Inventory Tracker, and requiring both a prep and post-market workshop. Topics spanned the practical and the overlooked: pricing strategy, customer engagement, taxes and legal considerations, and how to reflect on and build from the experience once the market closed.

I was hired to increase the ROI of the ArtCenter education through experiential learning that supports our grad’s practical business skills and entrepreneurial mindset.

I conducted design research, interviewing 30+ students, alumni and faculty to map the entrepreneurial landscape and identify needs. I then developed programming and resources to support students at every phase of their time at ArtCenter from Art Market which gives a low stakes entry point into entrepreneurship (⅓ of participants had never priced or sold their work before) to Catalyst Studio, a 10 week intensive program for recent grads who want to pursue an independent path and develop their own clients and customers.

Programs and Resources launched in my first year

Catalyst Studio

To address the shift of job market towards project-based and contract employment, I designed Catalyst Studio — a free 10-week career accelerator giving recent ArtCenter grads the skills, systems, and mindsets for sustainable self-employment, with guidance, accountability, and community built in.

Video Resource Library

I designed the video resource library for search and action — each short-form video answers one of the most common questions students have about freelancing and business, paired with a worksheet or template to turn knowledge into practice.
